‘The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen... Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention.’

Welcome

Hi - my name is Linda Pesavento and I am the founder of ‘On The Journey Counselling’

With professional experience in corporate training and communications, high school teaching, small business ownership and Christian ministry, my greatest strength has always been encouraging and empowering people.

I have tertiary qualifications in business, education, ministry, coaching and counselling. My greatest professional joy is to create a safe space where people feel secure, heard and accepted. With the benefit of my own lived experiences of transition, loss and grief, I know how to listen deeply, ask the right questions and then help you unlock the wisdom in your answers.

I am registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), and am committed to life-long learning. I meet regularly with a clinical supervisor to ensure that I provide my clients with the highest level of care and support.

My approach

I see you as the expert of your own life. I am here to help you to gain a new perspective and share tools that have helped others who are facing similar challenges. I provide you with the opportunity to tell your story in your own words and in your own way. We then work from a strengths-based perspective, helping you to identify and utilise your unique strengths and resources so you can feel equipped to overcome your challenges and achieve your goals.

I work with a trauma-informed perspective and draw on Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Self-Compassion and Solution Focused techniques, depending on what is the best fit for you.

On The Journey Counselling is an inclusive practice that welcomes and embraces diversity.
